The “coolest” things to do in OKC this summer involve water – of course! Whether you’re looking for relaxation at the pool, a fun outing for the kids or a true water adventure, you can find it in OKC.
To get you started, we’re sharing a few of our favorite ways to cool off in OKC this summer.
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
You won’t run out of things to do at the biggest water park in Oklahoma. Swim and play in the family pool, enjoy the wave pool or take your little ones to the shallow toddler pool. The park has 14 water slides, a lazy river, many dining options and cabanas where you can rest and refresh.
OKANA Resort & Indoor Water Park
No matter what the weather is doing outside, OKANA Resort’s indoor water park is always a pleasant 82 degrees. Your family can enjoy the wave pool, lazy river, water slides and play zone any day of the year. The outdoor lagoon has a white sand beach, swim-up bar and cabanas.
Wake Zone Cable Park
For a little more adventure, try your hand at wakeboarding, water skiing, kneeboarding and other exciting water sports. The park uses an overhead cable system to support and move participants across the lake. If that’s not for you, the park also has three “Extreme Water Slides” and a floating playground.
Riversport Rapids
Take on more adventure at this paddlesports destination on the Oklahoma River. Brave the man-made whitewater course, do some surfing or enjoy flatwater paddling. You can also take lessons or join a boating team.
Myriad Botanical Gardens
Looking for something a little less adventurous? Take the kids to Myriad Botanical Gardens to play in the water features. Thunder Fountain, located beside the Children’s Garden, is designed to evoke the feeling of an Oklahoma thunderstorm. The more traditional water feature in the Seasonal Plaza has a shallow wading pool and water sprays.
Arcadia Lake
When you want to spend a quiet, relaxing day at the lake, head over to Arcadia Lake in Edmond. You can go fishing, take a boat out on the water, camp overnight or just enjoy the natural surroundings with a walk through the park.
