1. Celebrate the Season at the Wings Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch
Dates and Times: September 20-October 6 (weekends only), Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday 1-6 p.m.
Location: 13700 N. Eastern Avenue
Ticket Prices: $8 per person, $25 for a four-pack of tickets, and free for kids two and under
Enjoy games, hayrides, inflatables, and other family-friendly attractions and entertainment at the Wings Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch. Walk through the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin to bring home and decorate for Halloween. Interact with animals big and small at the festival’s petting zoo. You can even take a ride in a pumpkin-shaped car.
Pumpkins are available for purchase at the festival. All festival proceeds support Wings, a local organization that offers social, vocational, and residential programs focused on improving the lives of adults with developmental disabilities.
2. Connect with Family, Friends, and Neighbors at Edmond First United Methodist Church’s Fall Festival
Date and Time: September 22, 5-7 p.m.
Location: Chitwood Park, 712 W 1st Street
The First United Methodist Church Fall Festival, a multigenerational cookout and fellowship, is a great opportunity to commemorate the first day of autumn with family, friends, and neighbors.
Attend with family and friends and engage with one another in a friendly and comfortable outdoor atmosphere. Also, while you’re here, meet your neighbors and bond over the beauty of fall in Edmond together.
3. Enter to Win The Literary Pumpkin Decorating Contest at the Edmond Library
Dates and Times: September 23 at 9 a.m. to October 13 at 6 p.m.
Location: Edmond Library, 10 S Boulevard
Let your creative juices run wild as part of the Edmond Library’s annual “The Literary Pumpkin” contest. Open to kids and adults, the contest lets you submit your very own decorated pumpkin highlighting your chosen literary character or story.
Starting September 23, you can pick up a free contest kit with a mini pumpkin. From here, paint, carve, and decorate your pumpkin however you’d like.
You can get your contest kit from the Edmond Library from September 23 through September 29 at the Children’s desk or via curbside pickup. Then, decorate your pumpkin and, once it’s finished, return it to the library between October 7 and 13.
4. Explore the Storybook Forest at Arcadia Lake
Dates and Times: October 23-30, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Location: Arcadia Lake’s Spring Creek Park, 7200 E. 15th Street
Ticket Prices: $15 per child and $5 per adult
Ever wonder what stories like “The Three Little Pigs” and “The Little Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe” would look like in real life? Visit the Storybook Forest at Arcadia Lake to find out. Here, children can see life-sized scenes from timeless stories and collect candy as they make their way along the well-lit path in the woods.
After a trip down the trail, stop by the concession area, where parents and children can roast hot dogs and s’mores on a campfire. You can also hear kids’ stories at the reading tent, try your luck at a carnival game, and ride a hayride with family and friends.
The Storybook Forest is a come-and-go event, with festivities available nightly. No one is allowed at the event site before 5:15 p.m.
5. Tour Downtown Edmond — and Much More — as Part of the Cycle 66 Bike Ride
Date and Time: November 3, with the first ride start time at 8:00 a.m.
Start/Finish Location: Downtown Edmond, on Broadway just north of 1st Street
Price: $45 for adults to ride 10 miles, 18 miles, 33 miles, and 66 miles, $10 for kids 12 and under to ride 10 miles, $45 for adults to enter the Crit race, $15 for kids ages 11 to 18 to enter the Crit race
Now in its fourth year, the Cycle 66 Bike Ride is fun for bikers of all experience levels. The ride takes place on the first Sunday of November in commemoration of Route 66’s birthday, which is November 11.
The bike ride begins and ends in downtown Edmond. In the middle, cyclists will ride along legendary Route 66 and see many local historic landmarks and attractions.
Choose between 10-, 18-, 33-, and 66-mile bike routes or sign up for the criterium race. No matter which you choose, all event funds support the Oklahoma Route 66 Association and other worthy local causes.
Everyone is invited to the free finish line festival. Cheer Crit cyclists as they race against one another and Cycle 66 distance riders as they finish their ride. Or, visit vendor booths, treat yourself to food and drinks, and enjoy fall in downtown Edmond with family and friends.
